This lesson covers decrescendo murmur. The first and second heart sounds are normal and the decrescendo murmur starts early in diastole, diminishing during diastole. The decrescendo murmur is high-pitched.
The 'Visual' tab can be used to view an animation which presents a heart with an enlarged left ventricle with normal contractility. Please observe the regurgitant flow from the aorta into the left ventricle. This is the source of murmur.
